Mount the Structure Sensor scanner onto the iPad Mini 2 using the bracket. Make sure the bracket is fully seated or the color camera and 3D sensor will be misaligned.
Connect the scanner to the iPad's lightning port using the special cable.
Open the ItSeez3D app, and select "New Scan" at the top right corner of the screen.
Select whether you'll be scanning an "Object" or "Human".
Point the scanner the object/human to be scanned. If scanning a human start from the front; the app will automatically detect the face and set the scanning parameters. Use landscape orientation for bust scanning and portrait orientation for full body scanning.
Hit "Start" to begin scanning. If scanning a person it is critical that he/she be COMPLETELY STILL until the scanning process has finished. Any movement will mess up the mesh generation and color mapping. Slowly move around the object/person being scanned. If you move too near/far while scanning, the app will notify you and ask you to correct the position. Continue scanning around the object from all angles until all faces of the mesh are filled in with white. Press "DONE" hen finished scanning.
Click on the preview image of the latest scan.
Click on "Local Preview" to begin generating a low resolution version of the 3D model. The processing takes a few minutes and the resulting model will be VERY rough...don't worry parts appear missing or render strangely.
When the low quality model is finished processing, select "Open preview model". Select "Cloud processing" to send your scan data to the cloud server where a high quality model will be generated. This process takes up to 15 minutes, but you can marvel at your handiwork and continue to use that app while you wait.
